Care-Worker Credential Deadline Library

Home-care credentials do not follow one national renewal rule.

“HHA,” “Home Care Aide,” “CHHA,” and “nurse aide” can describe different credentials in different states. This library separates those rules instead of pretending every caregiver renews the same certificate on the same schedule.

Published guides

Use the credential name and issuing authority that actually apply.

Each guide starts with an official source, explains the state's actual credential and renewal mechanics, and shows when the information was last verified and when it must be reviewed again.

Three states, three different systems

Washington HCA, New Jersey CHHA, and Indiana HHA should not be collapsed into one template.

Washington has a Home Care Aide certification that generally expires every year on the holder's birthday and requires annual continuing education. New Jersey uses the Certified Homemaker-Home Health Aide designation and a statewide odd-year renewal calendar. Indiana maintains a Home Health Aide registration with a two-year cycle plus annual in-service and work requirements.

That variation is why Deadline Hawk stores the user's verified date instead of inventing a generic recurrence rule for every caregiver credential.

The organizational buyer

A care organization may be tracking hundreds of dates across one workforce.

Home-care agencies, home-health agencies, assisted-living communities, adult family homes, skilled-nursing facilities, hospice providers, and healthcare staffing firms may employ people with several different credential types. One administrator can be responsible for HCA, HHA, CHHA, CNA or nurse-aide records alongside RN/LPN licenses, CPR/BLS, first aid, medication-aide credentials, and recurring training dates where those requirements apply.

From one renewal to a team workflow

Freshness and terminology

Common search language is useful. The regulator's terminology controls the facts.

  • Every public guide shows Published and Updated dates.
  • Every factual guide also shows Last Source Verification and Review By dates.
  • Pages are rechecked at least annually, and sooner when renewal systems or rules are changing.
  • Deadline Hawk tracks dates and follow-through; it does not determine whether a worker is legally qualified for a role.
